Sammy is Tough!

Sam has had a rough past few months.  He had his tonsils and adenoids removed in November.  It was a painful recovery, but he did well.  We went to the dentist and none of the kids had cavities except Sam.  He had to get 5 cavities treated.  He gets growing pains quite often and come limping into our room in the middle of the night.  We give him ibuprofen and then he can sleep.

About a month ago he was playing upstairs and fell on the edge of the table and hit right above his eye.  It looked terrible and swollen, but it didn't end up to be too bad.  Two days later he was jumping on the tramp with Ezra and got bounced.  He landed on the trampoline pads and ended up with a buckle fracture.  We didn't know and waited 4 days to take him in.  As soon as we found out we took him to an orthopedic doctor.  He has a full leg cast now.  A few days after getting the cast Livi was chosen from he class to tell a story to the second grade.  We came to watch.  Sam was in the stroller and we were getting in the elevator. His cast got caught on the floor and it launched him out of the stroller.  He hit is forehead on the corner of the elevator.  He was quite a sight with a full leg cast, cuts above his eye, and a big bruise on his forehead!

He is dealing with all of this really well.  We bought him a little four wheeler so he could get around the house.  He used this for about a week, then started walking on the cast.  He gets around just fine until it's time to clean up, then suddenly his cast makes him fall down and he reminds me that he has a broken leg.

I think he'll miss the cast when it comes off.  He gets lots of attention for it and likes getting it signed.  Grandma and Grandpa Miller sent him a present which he loves!  He's a tough little guy!
